Women’s Day celebration 2014 – Vaduvanchal

On the 15th March, 2014 we celebrated Women’s Day. 350 mothers of the children of the school and 15 lady teachers of the school had a day of memory, benefit and achievement. They gathered at 10 am in the school auditorium. Sr. Sheeja Jose welcomed them and introduced the importance of the day with sensible examples and facts, which made them, understand the nobility of being women and mothers. Sister also welcomed Ms Suja the animator of the day who is a simple lady with lots of wisdom and filled with the spirit of God. Ms. Suja spoke to them, on how to be a woman and a mother. She told them that motherhood is a precious and unique gift of God and it is not given to all the women.

God selected her and the women present to be mothers not because of any merit of theirs but through His great mercy and love for the world. With examples from her own life and with exhortations from the life of the great women she brought home the dignity of womanhood. She told them mother’s blessings are the best blessings a child can receive in her/his life. We would not have received all the affection, care and love from our mothers due to various reasons, but we should never deprive our children of that.

The mothers were in tears when they listened to her and became aware of their very many failures as mothers, in bringing up their children as expected by the creator God. With courage she quoted the Bible passage and the message of Jesus Christ connecting them with the law of nature.

After the talk, the mothers thanked the management for arranging this program and wished to meet Ms Suja for more guidance to be better, responsible and genuine wives and mothers. A good number of those were Muslim women. They enjoyed a piece of cake before they returned home happy and content.
